A COLLAGE A DAY KEEPS THE BLUES AWAY

Tuesdays, Sept 17th, Sept 24th & Oct 1st
3:30pm–4:30pm PST

Online via Zoom | Free

Collages are the ideal art form for the uncertain times we are living through. And you don’t need any art background or special talent to make a collage.

Each week, Lola will show you easy techniques to help you succeed.  Every class begins with a short video or slides featuring artists and techniques from around the world and step-by-step demonstrations. Then, we look at and talk about each other's work using the ideas we are learning.  It’s a nice way to get together with other older adults who have an interest in artistic expression.  A different prompt will be offered in each class, giving you two weeks to work on your next creation.  The class is designed to help you succeed in making collages even if you are a complete beginner.

In the process, you will learn how to take photographs of your own work with a cell-phone, edit those photographs, and send them as an email attachment. We'll also discover how to use Google Image and Wikimedia to find and print visual components to add to your own collage.

Designed for older adults, 55 and over, but all are welcome!

Participants are encouraged to collect images from magazines, books, old artwork, cards, maps, calendars, (and even paint chips) in preparation for the classes.
