ACTS OF CARE

OPENING CELEBRATION

Friday | August 16 | 6:00-8:30 pm PST
Onsite | All are welcome

Join us for the opening of Acts of Care, an exhibition presented by Counter Collective and Ruth’s Table that examines the practices of care that foster environments in which justice, change, and growth can blossom. Featuring special performances by spoken word poets Ashante J. Ford, Giovanna Lomanto, Camille Considine, and musical guest Roziht Eve.

About the Exhibition
Acts of Care assembles a collection of works that illuminate moments of care, regeneration, and solidarity. The selection of pieces explores questions such as: Who or what heals and nurtures you? What does self-care look like? What does mutual care look like? What gives you the strength to get back up? What do you protect and hold close? How does strength in a community take shape, grow, and evolve? Through images and artwork, the exhibition aims to highlight the regenerative practices and reciprocal relationships that fuel positive narratives of compassion for the self and the wider community.

Access: Ruth’s Table gallery and adjacent green space are wheelchair accessible. Artwork descriptions are available via QR codes on the wall labels. Resources include braille wall labels and a comprehensive braille exhibition book.

ASL Interpretation: ASL interpretation is available upon request. 72 hours notice required.
