Join us for an Art Party and Artist Led Workshop celebrating our current exhibition Boldly Ourselves! Learn how to express yourself through abstract painting techniques in an Intro to Abstract Painting Workshop led by exhibiting artist, Jasper Wilde, who will guide participants through various exercises to explore color, mark-making, and composition. After the workshop, enjoy an artist reception honoring all of our Pride month partners! Explore artworks on view by Jasper Wilde, Art With Elders, Sequoia Fabrica, Joel Millikan and Luke Andahazy, and community artworks made at Ruth’s Table.

About the Teaching Artist: Jasper Wilde is a trans nonbinary self-taught abstract artist who uses colors and layers to heal their psychic being by giving themselves the freedom to express gesturally. Raised to repress self-expression as a child brainwashed in an extreme Evangelical Christian family, their work is a rejection of emotional constraint. Their art manifests their true nature, which is the collective concept of what’s best for all of us is also best for me.
