CREATIVE AGING ARTIST CONVENING

Friday, December 16 | 9:45am-2:30pm
Onsite, with lunch provided

Calling all teaching artists! Ruth’s Table is hosting a dynamic creative aging convening for 15 Bay Area teaching artists. This event is full of experiential opportunities to learn more about creative aging concepts and opportunities to further engage in creative aging work.

The program will include:
-A tour of the current community-based exhibit Feel This Way.
-An interactive training delivered by our partner, Creative Spark, sharing creative aging concepts that reframe ageist narratives. Experiential activities and resources for working with diverse groups will also be shared, including older adults living with disabilities, dementia, social isolation, low income, and monolingual non-English speakers.
-An art-making session in response to the exhibit theme Feel This Way.

This event is geared towards any teaching artist who is engaging older adult students or wants to expand their practice to include older adults.

Access: Ruth’s Table is wheelchair accessible. The exhibition includes audio descriptions of each artwork, available via QR code on the wall labels. Materials will be available in large print and Braille.

COVID Guidelines: Face-masks are required

Registration: Free, thanks to the generosity of Yerba Buena Center For The Arts
