IMAGE OF SELF: VIRTUAL OPENING CELEBRATION
Thursday, December 2 | 3-4pm PT
Online | Zoom
Join us for the virtual opening celebration of our new Image of Self exhibition that opens on December 2nd.
Throughout the past year, our participants and teaching artists have explored collage, drawing, painting, poetry, and storytelling to create meaningful works that reflect on the themes of identity and representation of self.
Ruth’s Table and Creative Spark have partnered with elder care providers and local nonprofits to bring together older adults and adults with disabilities through virtual, phone-based and onsite art programs, delivering art kits, and parallel programming.
Image of Self exhibition features a selection of the resulting works, highlighting the diversity of our communities. Whether abstract, symbolic, or intimately detailed, each artwork in the exhibition reveals the artist’s identity, individuality, and story, and aims to celebrate our authentic self as the hero in our own story.
Event Details: During this interactive event, we will hear from participants, teaching artists, and educators from different communities as they share artwork, stories and program highlights, followed by an interactive art-making activity.
Program Partner: Presented in partnership with Creative Spark, a Covia Community Service.
