A self-portrait is our personal depiction of self. Whether abstract, symbolic, or intimately detailed, a portrait can reveal a person's identity, individuality, and story. In this interactive session led by artists Bill and Vicki Bruckner, participants will use self-reflection, drawing, collage, and painting, to create their own version of a self-portrait.
The workshop starts at 1pm with an introduction from the teaching artists and a brief walkthrough of the exhibition. RSVP here. Walk-ins are welcome.
This workshop is taking place during The Art of Disability Culture: Community Day Celebration.
The Art of Disability Culture exhibition includes several intimate acrylic paintings by Bill Bruckner, including a powerful self-portrait and several portraits of disabled friends. Bruckner’s tender works hold our gaze and encourage us to look closer and deeper.
