ROOTED ARTIST RECEPTION

Friday, April 25 | 5:30 – 8:00 PM
Onsite at Ruth’s Table | Free

Join us for a special evening of connection, creativity, and community as we celebrate ROOTED, an exhibition featuring over 50 Bay Area-based Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) artists. Presented on the cusp of AANHPI Heritage Month and in a time when voices of migrants are being silenced and the values of diversity and inclusion are under attack, ROOTED stands as a bold and necessary testament to collective resilience.

Curated by Jun Yang, a queer immigrant artist and community organizer, ROOTED is a visual manifesto reclaiming space, celebrating cultural legacies, and asserting presence. Through themes of memory, migration, heritage, and identity, the exhibition centers the dynamic contributions of AANHPI artists—particularly queer and women-identifying voices—in shaping the Bay Area’s creative landscape. In Jun’s words:

“Let ROOTED be a reminder of who we are, where we come from, and the strength we wield as we continue to write our collective story.”

The reception will include a special live performance by Roziht, a San Francisco-based Taiwanese American composer whose genre-bending work weaves together influences from sacred chants, Bach, Chopin, Debussy, jazz, Enya, and EDM—beautifully echoing the layered themes of the exhibition.

Guests will be able to meet the exhibiting artists, explore the gallery, and enjoy complimentary refreshments in the spirit of shared celebration.
