SLOW LOOKING: ON MATERIALS
Thursday, September 2 | | 1-2pm PT
First Thursday of each month
Wonderful things happen when we slow down and engage deeply with works of art. Join us in an interactive session as we look closely at two artworks from our recent exhibitions, Building Bridges: Breaking Barriers and Less is More. The session will explore what we notice, wonder, and discover when we take the time to look closely and carefully.
Bring your curiosity as we practice engaging with two artworks and share our observations, perspectives, and questions, as we examine each artwork and each artist's use of materials. In this session, we will spend about 30 minutes with each artwork in a conversation guided by facilitator Suzanne Reich, considering Howard Hersh's Skin Deep 18-3 (2018) and Beth Fein's Broken Painting Remains Unfinished (1987).
No prior experience of the curator's or artists' talks required.
