VIRTUAL DROP-IN: PAPER MACHE CAKES

Thursday | November 4 | 2-3pm PT
Thursday | November 11 | 2-3pm PT
All ages and skill levels

In this two-part class, participants will be making an imaginary cake out of paper maché. Inspired by Wayne Thiebaud's whimsical depictions of colorful cakes and pastries of all shapes and sizes, participants will create a 3-dimentional cake sculpture made of paper maché. Over two sessions, participants will make a 3-D form onto which paper maché will be added, made from paper scraps and a glue mixture to keep it all together. Cake decorating is open to interpretation, with ideas to be presented in class for inspiration. Participants can choose to make a somewhat realistic-looking cake or choose to make a fantasy cake and decorate it in any way you’d like. Participants will end up with a fun piece of sculpture that will brighten up your home, be a great conversation starter, and maybe, just maybe, cure your sweet tooth.

Note: This project is held over two sessions on Thur November 4 and Thur November 11 at 2-3pm PT.
