VIRTUAL DROP-IN: THE ANCIENT ART OF CHARCOAL SERIES

In this three-part series we’ll be exploring this most ancient of materials, and find potential expanding much beyond the point of a pencil or pen.  We’ll start with the basics of exploring mark-making, and then we’ll bring in a new material or two as we experiment with the addition of water and color. Discover your own unique drawing style while creating a signature piece of art!

Supplies:
-Compressed charcoal
-Paper- charcoal paper or cut open paper bags
-Kneaded rubber eraser or small slice of bread
-Stump/torchon or Q-tip
-Paint brush
-Water
-Napkins
-Conté crayon in color of your choice
-Conté crayon in white
-Scrub brush, soap and water and rag for clean-up
