GALLERY TAKEOVER
Gallery Takeovers are a series of annual exhibitions that display the resulting works created through art-making programs designed and led by RT teaching artists and educators, both onsite and offsite in our partner organizations.
This interactive program serves as a platform for every participant, regardless of their age or abilities, to create, share, and connect through art.
In 2022 alone, RT has provided an inclusive platform for over 25 partners, inspiring and connecting over 1,300 participants.

WHAT IS
GALLERY TAKEOVER?
Gallery Takeover program is an extension of our commitment to fostering inclusivity and celebrating aging, with a focus on intergenerational exchange, social connections and personal growth.
This program aims to provide an inclusive platform for conversation, afford agency and representation to diverse voices of our communities, and challenge assumptions about age and disability.
PLATFORM FOR COLLABORATION
Ruth’s Table connects diverse communities by developing close collaborations with senior services providers, local community groups, and schools, through virtual and onsite arts programs, teacher exchange, and parallel programming. In 2021 alone, our creative programs have brought together over 25 nonprofits and reached over 1,500 participants.
Creative projects draw on the themes of our exhibitions, allowing a commonality in medium, techniques or projects across partners.

Gallery Takeover program places access at the heart of its agenda.
Central to RT’s mission is our commitment to ensure access to our programs, exhibitions, and resources, to the widest possible audience, and broaden our reach to communities and organizations who lack equitable access to supportive creative opportunities.
