VIRTUAL DROP-IN: COLLAGE PORTRAIT

Wednesdays | September 15 | 1-2pm PT
All ages and skill levels

This workshop will explore an impressionistic approach to portraiture through mixed media collage. Based on Jean Michel Basquiat’s expressive work, participants will explore how lines, color, symbols, and words can express emotion and represent different parts of one’s identity. By incorporating sketching techniques, drawing, and text, participants will create a mixed media collage.

Collage Portrait is a part of the three-session series that explores different approaches to creating a self-portrait, from abstract to expressionistic, and ends with an introduction of the head and face proportions as a basis for a realistic drawing. Participants may choose to attend one or any number of sessions.
